ABOUT ME
Hi there, my name is Phoebe Nutting. I have 30 years dance experience including 20 years as a teacher. I am currently teaching at a local high school in Hobart in addition to running these casual dance classes for adults.
I began dancing at age 4 and trained in Devonport, primarily under Kellie Gossage. When I was 18, I was accepted into the Full-time Performing Arts course at Brent Street Studios in Sydney; one of the most prestigious dance schools in Aus. Here I trained with renowned teachers and choreographers, such as Kelly Abbey, and Matt Lee.
After graduating from Brent Street, I turned my attention to teaching and obtained my teaching degree as well as an arts degree from Deakin University in Melbourne.
With a particular passion for musical theatre, I have choreographed many productions for local theatre companies over the years. In 2015, I was nominated for a Tasmanian Theatre Award, for best choreography for my work with the Devonport Choral Society on their production of "All Shook Up"; a personal career highlight!
I teach all styles of dance but my favourites are jazz (both traditional and commercial), contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop and broadway.
